Clinical Trials 101: Everything You Need to Know to Get Started – Somebody To Talk To Zoom Session
Join us for our weekly “Somebody To Talk To” session where you will have an opportunity to learn patient and caregiver best practices and connect with others facing similar life challenges.
Sessions are only 30 minutes long so please arrive a few minutes early. The sessions are FREE, and everyone is welcome. You will need to access the session via Zoom.
When: Wednesday, October 25, 6:00-6:30 PM Eastern
Presenter: Dr. Kellie Kirksey
You’ve got questions? We’ve got answers. In this session we will provide a beginner’s guide to clinical trials. We will walk you through the process of finding out what clinical trials are accepting patients, and how to decide which one might be right for you. We will also answer your questions like, “How much does it cost?” “Will being in one trial shut me out of another trial?” “Is it dangerous?” “What happens if I am in the placebo group?” By the end of this session, you will have a lot more knowledge about how clinical trials work.
Somebody To Talk To is a not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to helping provide emotional / caregiving / parenting / relationship skills education, training, and supportive group discussions to the sickle cell disease community.
